Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2021 Samantha Panlilio took to Instagram on Sunday, December 5 to thank everyone for their support despite failing to make it as a finalist in the Miss Grand International competition on Saturday, December 4.
“Thank you all for the love and support. I am completely heartbroken but I know that I did my best and that’s all that matters,” she wrote.
“I feel nothing but grateful. My heart is warm.”
She thanked several people including past Miss Grand Philippines titleholders Nicole Cordoves and Elizabeth Clenci, her mentors in Kagandahang Flores, and her pageant admin supporters. She also thanked Binibining Pilipinas “for giving me this opportunity of a lifetime.”
Nicole and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray also posted comments of support to Samantha.
“Thank you for being the kind of representative who made the most of every opportunity given to you to give an unforgettable performance. The strength and resilience of your character is admirable.. the true definition of a F I L I P I N A,” Nicole said.
“You are a Queen in every sense! Only better things ahead! Never denied, only redirected. We’re right behind you @samanthapanlilio_” Catriona wrote.
Miss Universe Philippine Charity 2021 Victoria Velasquez Vincent also rallied behind Samantha saying: “We love you Sam.”
Vietnam’s Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien took home the crown, succeeding Abeena Akuaba of the United States.
