Following her win as Miss Intercontinental last October 30, the opportunities continue to pour in for Cindy Obeñita. She has made TV appearances, joined her fellow Binibining Pilipinas sisters to light the Christmas tree at Araneta City, had her homecoming in Misamis Oriental and celebrated with Miss Globe 2021 Maureen Montagne during the double homecoming last November 23.
During an interview with the Qrown Philippines, Cindy said that she was overwhelmed by the opportunities being offered to her.
“Like now I am having invitations to guest for this specific TV show and to guest for news programs. I am so happy. Aside from that, I’ll be continuing with my work in the government,” she said.
Cindy, who works as a tourism officer in Misamis Oriental, said that she had a long talk with the Miss Intercontinental Organization about her work in the LGU after they initially asked her to be based abroad.
“I want to make this clear that we had a conversation with [the] Miss Intercontinental Organization and they want me to stay in Spain. And when I said to them that I work for Misamis Oriental LGU, they have been understanding. Because some of the people also in Miss Intercontinental are from the European Union so they know the dynamics of working in the LGU,” she said.

2022 travels and Christmas plans

With the Philippines slowly easing restrictions, Cindy shared that she’s looking forward to the lineup of activities that the Miss Intercontinental Organization is working out for her.
“I’ll be traveling and will be back in Egypt for the World Top Model wherein I think I’ll be judging and the Miss Intercontinental pageants in different countries,” she said.
“There are a lot of activities lined up for the whole year and there will be local guestings as well so abang-abang po kayo.”
Cindy is also looking forward to spending time with her family and team this coming Christmas.
“We will celebrate it with our individual families as we have been away from home. I’ve been away from home I think for 2 years because of Binibini and the delays. But I think it’s rewarding, fruitful. So this Christmas, I really want to physically be with my family because ang dami naming pinagdaanan and talagang matagumpay ang naging resulta so I really would want to celebrate with them. They really deserve such a huge celebration,” she said.
