How do you feel that you are now an official candidate for this year’s Binibining Pilipinas pageant?
“ Overwhelmed with the amount of support I’m receiving and so excited for the rest of the month!”
What would be your advocacy if you’ll be given a chance to become the next Binibining Pilipinas queen and why did you chose this advocacy?
“ My grandparents was very dear to my heart. Growing up with them taught how precious life is. I’ve thought about my advocacy thoroughly over the years, then continuously asked myself with what I’m passionate about. All was answered through my experiences with my grandparents because this makes my heart go fond. That’s why I would like to bring awareness for elderly care because old age is a sensitive phase, elderly people need care and comfort to lead a healthy life without worries and anxiety. Lack of awareness regarding the changing of behavioral patterns in elderly people at home leads to abuse of them. Also, society needs to be reminded that they can still be productive citizens.”
What is your view on losing?
“Losing is never a failure, to be defeated is much more of a reason for someone to strive and work harder. It is on the one who surrenders are the one who truly loses the game and that is something that I don’t see in my options because the ones who are truly successful in life are the ones who never sees themselves giving up in life.”
What do you think will resolve the stigma against mental health?
“ Mental Health is caused by a traumatic experience where anxiety or depression is something that can lead into suicidal attempts. To resolve this issue aside from the works of the local government unit, we at home should also have a conversation over the table for it is in the family who we can bear some strength that they need, it is in our home where communication must not be limited. For it is in the home where they can start building their hopes and dreams and it is where it should be rebuilt.”
