MUTYA: 50 Years of Pageantry and Purpose


The Mutya ng Pilipinas Inc., is celebrating its 50th year since it began in 1968. 50 years of realizing the dreams of every Filipina to become a beauty queen, 50 years of building camaraderie and friendship towards girls from different provinces and of different cultures, 50 years of producing competitive and beautiful queens and 50 years of showcasing the beauty of the Philippines across the world.
The organization screened 50 candidates across the Philippines including the Filipino Community around the world. Series of events were done for almost a month of competition including the most highlighted event which is the Mutya ng Pilipinas 50th Year Reunion attended by past and present winners of the pageant.

For the 50th year celebration, a commemorative book was launched to the public which costs Php2,000 showcasing the past queens and the achievements of the organization. Aside from the book, the organization also revealed new sets of crowns by Hoseki for the 3 lucky girls who will be wearing these golden crowns.

In this year’s competition, there are 4 crowns at stake and these are:
Mutya ng Pilipinas – Miss Asia Pacific International, who will represent the country in the upcoming competition to be held in Manila from September 14 to October 4;
Mutya ng Pilipinas – Miss Tourism International 2018, who will represent the country in a competition to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from December 4 to 23;
Mutya ng Pilipinas – Miss Global Beauty Queen, who will vie for the title in May 2019;
Mutya ng Pilipinas – Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International, who will compete in China from November 1 to 18.
